Isabella Mann: Myths (sacred story)

From what I've learned myths were a story that wasn't true but was believed in different cultures like the lochness monster, bigfoot, and even the yeti. In this class I've gathered that myths are not just an untrue story but are sacred stories that provide symbolic frameworks for understanding reality. They explain origins, values, and the mysteries of existence in ways that cannot be tested or scientifically proven. These stories hold meaning within cultural and spiritual contexts. Myths are opposites of folktales and legends, which entertain or embellish history; myths carry a deeper weight, shaping how communities view themselves and their place in the cosmos. They are not simply narratives but symbolic truths.
